SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION 1630

A RESOLUTION to honor the memory of Rebecca Foster of
Cumberland County.
WHEREAS, the members of this General Assembly were greatly saddened to learn of
the passing of Rebecca Foster; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Foster was an exemplary public servant and consummate professional who worked assiduously to improve the quality of life for her fellow citizens in numerous capacities; and WHEREAS, Rebecca Foster had served as the district director for Congressman John Rose since 2019; and WHEREAS, prior to her tenure with Congressman Rose, Mrs. Foster served as the chief nursing officer of Cumberland Medical Center for six years; her career in health care spanned almost three decades; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Foster was a native of Clarkrange and a graduate of Tennessee Technological University, where she studied nursing and nursing informatics; and WHEREAS, Rebecca Foster was deeply devoted to her family, and she always endeavored to remain true to family values of the highest order; and WHEREAS, she is survived by her husband, Allen Foster, the mayor of Cumberland County; her two children; her precious grandchild; and her parents; and WHEREAS, well known in Cumberland County for her service to the community, Mrs.
Foster was a wonderful person whose positive spirit blessed the lives of everyone with whom she came into contact; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Foster leaves behind an indelible legacy of integrity and probity in
public life, compassion and loyalty in private life, and diligence and dedication in all her chosen endeavors; and SJR1630

WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should pause to
remember the bountiful life of this exceptional public servant and human being; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRTEENTH
GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF
REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we honor the memory of Rebecca Foster, reflecting fondly upon her impeccable character and her stalwart commitment to living the examined life with courage and conviction.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that we express our sympathy and offer our condolences to the family of Mrs. Foster.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear without House or Senate designation.
