SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION 1627

A RESOLUTION to honor the memory of Robert Clifford Davis of
Dennison.
WHEREAS, the members of this General Assembly were greatly saddened to learn of
the passing of Robert Clifford Davis; and WHEREAS, Mr. Davis was a highly respected member of his community and a consummate professional who worked assiduously to improve the quality of life for his fellow citizens in numerous capacities; and WHEREAS, a native of Dennison, Robert Davis was born on May 31, 1940, to Robert Lee and Margaret Frances Morrow Davis; and WHEREAS, Mr. Davis was a 1958 graduate of Dennison High School, and he honorably served his nation as a member of the United States Army Reserve; and WHEREAS, Robert Davis served with acumen and alacrity as an employee of General Telephone, in which position he earned the respect of his peers and superiors alike for the exemplary quality of his work; and WHEREAS, Mr. Davis took his well-deserved retirement from General Telephone after thirty years of distinguished service; and WHEREAS, an avid golfer with a lifetime record of thirteen holes-in-one, Robert Davis particularly enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren; and WHEREAS, Mr. Davis was deeply devoted to his family and always endeavored to
remain true to family values of the highest order; and WHEREAS, left to cherish his memory are his children, Alisa Davis and Bryan Davis; his grandchildren, Mya Hanks and Aisley Davis; his longtime companion, Lois Antonelli; and his best friend and golfing buddy, Chuck Barrett; and WHEREAS, in addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William

WHEREAS, Robert Davis leaves behind an indelible legacy of integrity and probity in
public life, compassion and loyalty in private life, and diligence and dedication in all his chosen endeavors; and WHEREAS, it is fitting that we should pause to remember the bountiful life of this exceptional public servant and human being; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRTEENTH
GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF
REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we honor the memory of Robert Clifford Davis,
reflecting fondly upon his impeccable character and his stalwart commitment to living the examined life with courage and conviction.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that we express our sympathy and offer our condolences to the family of Mr. Davis.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear without House or Senate designation.
