HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 1496

A RESOLUTION to recognize Sheats Endodontic Group on the occasion of its fortieth anniversary.
WHEREAS, it is fitting that this General Assembly should honor those exemplary businesses that serve the endodontic needs of Tennesseans; and WHEREAS, one such remarkable business is Sheats Endodontic Group, which is
celebrating its fortieth anniversary this year; and WHEREAS, Sheats Endodontic Group was founded forty years ago by the late Dr.
Jimmy B. Sheats and his wife, Simone, as Associated Dental Specialists; and WHEREAS, since Dr. Jimmy B. Sheats's untimely passing in 2017, his children, Dr.
Jimmy B. Sheats II and Dr. Jan-Néé Sheats-Mathis, have been providing the same quality endodontic services with the same love and dedication that their father taught them at a young age; and WHEREAS, Dr. Jimmy B. Sheats II, or "Dr. J.," as his patients affectionately call him, is
a graduate of Morehouse College; he attended the University of Louisville School of Dentistry,
where he was a classmate of his sister, Dr. Jan-Néé Sheats-Mathis, who attended Spelman College prior to dental school; and WHEREAS, Dr. Sheats and Dr. Sheats-Mathis both attended Tufts University School of
Dental Medicine for their specialty training in endodontics; and WHEREAS, Sheats Endodontic Group has prospered and grown to include three locations in Nashville, Murfreesboro, and Franklin; and WHEREAS, it is most appropriate that we commend this exemplary business and its owners on attaining this milestone; now, therefore,

THIRTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE
CONCURRING, that we honor and recognize Sheats Endodontic Group on the occasion of its fortieth anniversary and extend to Dr. Jimmy B. Sheats II and Dr. Jan-Néé Sheats-Mathis our best wishes for every future success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear without House or Senate designation.
