HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 1481

A RESOLUTION to honor and congratulate Amanda Williams on
her selection as the Dyer County Teacher of the Year at Northview Middle School.
WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should pause to
specially recognize those outstanding teachers who have devoted their careers to providing the highest-quality education for Tennessee's students; and WHEREAS, Amanda Williams is one such estimable educator, who has distinguished herself as a professional of the greatest dedication, ability, and integrity; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Williams has been named the Dyer County Teacher of the Year at
Northview Middle School, a most befitting honor that recognizes the positive influence she has on so many young lives; and WHEREAS, a teacher with the Dyer County School System for nine years, Amanda Williams began her teaching career at Dyer County High School and currently teaches seventh-
grade math at Northview Middle School; and WHEREAS, a native of Dyersburg, she is a 1994 graduate of Dyersburg High School and holds a bachelor's degree in engineering with an emphasis in mechanical engineering from the University of Tennessee at Martin; and WHEREAS, she completed her educator preparation program at the University of
Tennessee at Martin in 2017 and recently completed her special education interventionist endorsement through the University of Tennessee, Knoxville; and WHEREAS, a valued leader at her school, Amanda Williams serves as a sponsor of the National Junior Beta Club, member of the PBIS Committee, and an elder and mentor for the Nashoba house system at Northview Middle School; and HJR1481

WHEREAS, a seventh-grade level five math teacher, she has served on the Math Textbook Committee and as a part of the STEM School Designation Committee; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Williams is an inspiration to her colleagues and students alike, and her friendship and counsel are highly valued by those who are fortunate to know her; and WHEREAS, the daughter of David and Dianne Anderson, Amanda Williams enjoys the love and support of her husband, Richard, and their daughter, Brylee; and WHEREAS, Amanda Williams truly epitomizes the dedicated teacher who is wholly committed to the highest ideals of public service and quality education for all, and she should be
specially recognized; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED
THIRTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE
CONCURRING, that we hereby honor and congratulate Amanda Williams on being chosen as
the Dyer County Teacher of the Year at Northview Middle School, commend her exceptional service to the children of Tennessee, salute her professional expertise and personal excellence,
and wish her all the best in her future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear without House or Senate designation.
