SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION 1585

A RESOLUTION to honor Haley Bailey on being named The Greeneville Sun's Girls' Basketball Co-Player of
the Year.
WHEREAS, it is fitting that we should recognize those incredibly successful student athletes who have distinguished themselves as inspirational leaders among their peers; and WHEREAS, Haley Bailey of the North Greene High School Lady Huskies was recently named The Greeneville Sun's Girls' Basketball Co-Player of the Year in recognition of her superior performance on the hardwood during the 2023-2024 season; and WHEREAS, Haley Bailey greatly improved her decision-making, ball-handling skills, and inside-scoring ability as a senior; and WHEREAS, a quiet leader by example, Haley Bailey worked hard to achieve a break-out season, scoring 596 points for a 16.1 point average, pulling 309 rebounds, and recording 50
steals; and WHEREAS, she reached the 1,000-career-point plateau during the Region 1 Class 1A
semifinals and played a major role in the Lady Huskies' march to the state tournament; and WHEREAS, Haley Bailey was honored as a member of the All-Conference, All-District,
and All-Region teams, and she was a finalist for the statewide Miss Basketball award; and WHEREAS, Haley Bailey exemplifies the spirit, determination, and perseverance for which Tennesseans are notable, and she is richly deserving of our approbation on this special occasion; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRTEENTH
GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF
REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we honor and congratulate Haley Bailey of North SJR1585

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear without House or Senate designation.
