HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 1461

A RESOLUTION to honor the memory of Kylie Veronica Roberto of Knoxville.
WHEREAS, the members of this General Assembly were greatly saddened to learn of
the untimely passing of Kylie Roberto at the age of twenty-one; and WHEREAS, although her time on this earth was far too brief, Kylie Roberto lived a full life of love, kindness, and compassion; and WHEREAS, often referred to as "the animal whisperer," Kylie Roberto took her first horseback riding lesson at the age of five and was instantly captivated; from that moment until she graduated from high school, Kylie was devoted to riding horses, talking about horses, and dreaming about horses; and WHEREAS, during this time, Kylie Roberto learned about the power of consistency,
determination, trust, partnership, and love; and WHEREAS, Kylie Roberto was a dreamer, a seeker, a person of deep spirituality, and an exemplary human being whose life was guided by the principles of kindness and empathy;
and WHEREAS, often described as one of Earth's angels, Kylie had large bright blue eyes, a huge smile, and a laugh that made her presence compelling; she not only lit up a room when she entered but touched the souls of those present; and WHEREAS, a 2020 graduate of Bearden High School, Kylie Roberto attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and Pellissippi State Community College but had spent the last few years working at White Lace and Promises as a bridal consultant and, more recently, as a sales manager; she was passionate about her job and loved helping others and spreading joy; and HJR1461

WHEREAS, Kylie Roberto lived her adult life in West Knoxville with her boyfriend and the love of her life, Joseph Belew, and her pride and joy, Beaz and Gretta, their two adopted cats; she loved creating art, gardening, and cooking in her free time; and WHEREAS, Kylie Roberto had her whole life ahead of her, and it is indeed tragic that she was taken from her family and friends at such an early age; and WHEREAS, Kylie Roberto is survived by her mother, Christine Veronica Abrams (Leah Abrams); father, Andrew James Roberto (Sarah Roberto); younger sister, Hannah Katherine Roberto; beloved boyfriend, Joseph Belew; grandparents, Jim and Jane Roberto and Edward McInerney; aunts and uncles, Tim and Karen Roberto, Katie and Jacob Lay, and Patrick and Melissa McInerney; several cousins; and a group of very close friends whom she loved and adored and who filled her life with so much happiness and love; and WHEREAS, she was preceded in death by her grandmother, Dorothy McInerney; and WHEREAS, Kylie Roberto leaves behind a legacy of compassion and loyalty in private life and diligence and dedication in all her chosen endeavors; and WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should celebrate her bountiful life, even as we mourn her passing; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED
THIRTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE
CONCURRING, that we honor the memory of Kylie Veronica Roberto, reflecting fondly upon her beauty, humanity, kindness, and compassion for others.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that we express our sympathy and offer our condolences to the family of Ms. Roberto.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear without House or Senate designation.
