SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION 1559

A RESOLUTION to honor and commend Emma Lane Babcock.
WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should salute those young citizens who, through their extraordinary efforts, have distinguished themselves as
emerging community leaders of whom we can all be proud; and WHEREAS, Emma Lane Babcock is one such outstanding young Tennessean who has positively contributed to her school community through her innovative initiative A Note to My PrinciPal; and WHEREAS, a remarkable third-grade student at St. Joseph School in Nashville, Emma Lane Babcock is the creative mind behind A Note to My PrinciPal, a thoughtful endeavor that provides young students with a healthy, positive, and confidential way to express themselves in
writing to their principal; and WHEREAS, A Note to My PrinciPal encourages young students to communicate with their principal through written notes, fostering a sense of connection and understanding; and WHEREAS, Emma Lane Babcock's goal is to ensure that every elementary school in
Tennessee has a mailbox dedicated to receiving these special notes, and her first mailbox was placed in W.E. Burrus Elementary School; and WHEREAS, Miss Babcock epitomizes the spirit and commitment that are characteristic of a true Tennessean; and WHEREAS, we find it appropriate to acknowledge and applaud one of this State's finest young people for her dedication to her fellow students and the citizens of this State; now,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRTEENTH
GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF
REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we honor and commend Emma Lane Babcock for her dedication to promoting positive communication and written expression among young students, extending our best wishes for every continued success in her future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear without House or Senate designation.
