HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 1444

A RESOLUTION to honor Amanda Leigh "Mandi" Goodrich upon her many professional accomplishments and her ongoing service to her community.
WHEREAS, the members of this General Assembly are pleased to recognize a professional who is passionate about caring for families and providing quality service in the funeral industry, putting her heart and soul into her work; and WHEREAS, Amanda Leigh "Mandi" Goodrich serves as the General Manager of
Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Williamson Memorial Gardens, and Spring Hill Memorial Park, Funeral Home and Cremation Services, in which position she is continuing the legacy of
her grandparents, Clyde and Nellie Stephens, and her mother, Pam Stephens; and WHEREAS, Mandi Goodrich started working for the family funeral home as an administrative assistant; after she served her apprenticeship, she obtained her funeral director license in 2008 and worked side-by-side with her grandfather, her mother, and other family members; and WHEREAS, since that time, she has served hundreds of families during the most difficult time of their lives; her compassionate leadership is a continued blessing to both her clients and the community she loves; and WHEREAS, Mandi Goodrich has served in many leadership roles with the Tennessee Funeral Directors Association (TFDA) and is the current president of that professional organization; and WHEREAS, Ms. Goodrich followed in the footsteps of her grandfather and mother in
serving as President of TFDA, and she is the only third-generation family member to ever serve HJR1444

in that capacity; she is only the third female president during the more than 120-year history of
TFDA; and WHEREAS, Ms. Goodrich gives back to her community through events such as the Williamson Memorial Gardens Annual Community Sunrise Service and Memorial Day Flag Placement, the annual Veterans Day Service at Spring Hill Memorial Park and Funeral Home,
and the annual Candlelight Services at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home and Spring Hill Memorial; and WHEREAS, she has been nominated for the Emerging Leader Award sponsored by
Franklin Tomorrow; and WHEREAS, an avid University of Tennessee Volunteers fan, Mandi Goodrich is
renowned as a walking playbook for several sports, and she would love to coach in her second career; and WHEREAS, she counts Coach Pat Summitt as her mentor, and her love for sports and teamwork have helped her develop the necessary leadership skills to create a successful team in the workplace; and WHEREAS, Mandi Goodrich expresses her faith as a seventh-generation member of Mt.
Carmel Cumberland Presbyterian Church; and WHEREAS, her many professional and civic accomplishments aside, she is most grateful for the love and companionship she shares with her newlywed husband, Clarke Goodrich, and her children, Stirlin and Langley; and WHEREAS, Mandi Goodrich is a community leader of the highest order, and she is most worthy of our approbation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED
THIRTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE
CONCURRING, that we honor Amanda Leigh "Mandi" Goodrich upon her many professional

accomplishments in the funeral industry and her ongoing service to the Franklin community,
thank her for her compassion and kindness to grieving families, and extend to her our best wishes for much continued success and happiness.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear without House or Senate designation.
