HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 1438

A RESOLUTION to honor and commend Medtronic on the occasion of its seventy-fifth anniversary.
WHEREAS, it is fitting that this General Assembly should recognize those exemplary businesses that, through their unwavering commitment to excellence, are a credit to this State;
and WHEREAS, one such remarkable establishment is Medtronic, the world's largest healthcare technology company, which is celebrating its seventy-fifth anniversary on April 29,
2024; and WHEREAS, a global company based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Medtronic plays a vital role in the economic well-being of Tennessee, as the company's Spinal Technologies Division is
based in Memphis with its headquarters located at Pyramid Place; and WHEREAS, Medtronic now employs more than 1,300 employees in Memphis, including at its quickly growing distribution and manufacturing facility on Airways Boulevard, and has become an important part of the medical device community in Shelby County; and WHEREAS, for seventy-five years, Medtronic has pursued its mission to alleviate pain,
restore health, and extend life as envisioned by the company's founder, Earl Bakken, and it
today employs more than 95,000 employees to propel the company forward; and WHEREAS, it is most appropriate that we recognize such an exemplary business on this historic milestone; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED
THIRTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE
CONCURRING, that we hereby honor and commend Medtronic on the occasion of its seventy-
fifth anniversary and extend to it our best wishes for every future success.
