HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 1426

A RESOLUTION to commend Dustin Walker "Dusty" Malone for exemplary service as a legislative intern.
WHEREAS, each legislative session, this body is pleased to recognize certain persons who have committed themselves, through their adroit service, to the betterment of the legislative process; and WHEREAS, Dustin Walker "Dusty" Malone is one such individual who has distinguished himself in his role as a legislative intern for Representative Darren Jernigan; Dusty's work has resulted in innumerable benefits for the legislators he assisted and the General Assembly as a whole; and WHEREAS, born in Nashville and raised in Dickson County, Mr. Malone is a student at
Austin Peay State University, where he is highly regarded by his peers; he has achieved academic success and participated in numerous extracurricular activities while pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in History with a Minor in Political Science; and WHEREAS, outside of his studies, Mr. Malone enjoys bowling, golfing, basketball,
reading, and playing video games; and WHEREAS, eager to familiarize himself with the characteristics and complexities of
Tennessee State government and to further his studies, Dusty Malone brought his many abilities and singular expertise to Capitol Hill for the 2024 session of the One Hundred Thirteenth General Assembly; and WHEREAS, his noteworthy accomplishments are a tremendous source of pride for his parents, Joey and Amanda Malone and Catrina and Shawn Lietzau; his siblings, Morgan, Sami,
Christian, Easton, and Maci; and his girlfriend, Emily Birdwell; and WHEREAS, throughout the 2024 legislative session, Dusty Malone has surpassed all criteria that define a devoted and conscientious legislative intern; and HJR1426

WHEREAS, Dusty Malone has performed his many duties with extraordinary insight and rare decorum; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED
THIRTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE
CONCURRING, that we hereby commend Dustin Walker "Dusty" Malone for outstanding service as a legislative intern for Representative Darren Jernigan and extend to him our best wishes for every future success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear without House or Senate designation.
