SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION 1509

A RESOLUTION to honor Danny Holmes for his meritorious service as Baxter Police Chief.
WHEREAS, thousands of Tennesseans continue our time-honored tradition of
volunteerism through service in law enforcement, dedicating their time and efforts to
apprehending those who have broken the law; and WHEREAS, it is appropriate that the members of this General Assembly should honor those citizens who performed with uncommon devotion and enthusiasm during their careers in
law enforcement; and WHEREAS, one such estimable individual is Baxter Police Chief Danny Holmes, who devoted thirteen years to the preservation of law and order and the protection of his fellow citizens of Baxter; and WHEREAS, Chief Holmes served with tremendous courage, fortitude, and professionalism and made a significant impact for the betterment of his community; and WHEREAS, Chief Holmes exemplifies the spirit and allegiance to family and community that are characteristic of a true Tennessean; and WHEREAS, throughout his estimable career, Chief Danny Holmes demonstrated the utmost professionalism, ability, and integrity, winning the unbridled respect and admiration of his fellow officers and a grateful public; and WHEREAS, we find it appropriate to acknowledge Chief Holmes for his dedication and service to the citizens of Baxter and the State of Tennessee; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRTEENTH
GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF
REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we honor and commend Danny Holmes for his SJR1509

exemplary thirteen-year tenure as Baxter Police Chief and extend to him our best wishes for much continued success and happiness in his future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear without House or Senate designation.
