SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION 1510

A RESOLUTION to recognize Chief Michael Head of the Gainesboro Police Department on the occasion of his retirement.
WHEREAS, it is appropriate that the members of this General Assembly should honor those citizens who have performed with uncommon devotion and enthusiasm throughout their careers in law enforcement; and WHEREAS, Chief Michael Head of the Gainesboro Police Department is one such estimable individual, who has devoted his life to the preservation of law and order and the protection of his fellow citizens; and WHEREAS, after forty-one years of distinguished service to the Town of Gainesboro and Jackson County, Chief Michael Head recently took a much-deserved retirement, having dedicated himself to the highest tenets of public service and law enforcement throughout his career; and WHEREAS, Chief Head is an active and important part of his community and profession,
participating in numerous worthy organizations and lending his support to many civic endeavors;
and WHEREAS, in his retirement, Chief Michael Head, affectionately known as "Buckwheat,"
plans on putting up his sidearm and picking up his fishing pole; and WHEREAS, Chief Head has performed his duties with professionalism and integrity,
helping his fellow citizens in any way that he could and proving himself time and again to be a tremendous asset to the Gainesboro Police Department; and WHEREAS, Chief Michael Head exemplifies the spirit and allegiance to community that are characteristic of a true Tennessean; and SJR1510

WHEREAS, throughout his estimable career, Chief Head demonstrated the utmost ability and honor, winning the sincere respect and admiration of his colleagues and the citizens of Gainesboro; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRTEENTH
GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF
REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we honor and commend Chief Michael Head on his exemplary career with the Gainesboro Police Department and extend to him our best wishes for much continued success and happiness in his retirement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear without House or Senate designation.
