SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION 1415

A RESOLUTION to commend Julia Briggs for exemplary service as an intern for the University of Tennessee Office of Government Relations and Advocacy.
WHEREAS, each legislative session, this General Assembly is pleased to recognize certain persons who have committed themselves, through their adroit service, to the betterment of the legislative process; and WHEREAS, Julia Briggs is one such individual, who has distinguished herself in her role as an intern for the University of Tennessee Office of Government Relations and Advocacy; Ms.
Briggs's work has resulted in innumerable benefits for those she assisted and the General Assembly as a whole; and WHEREAS, a native of Mt. Juliet, Ms. Briggs is the daughter of Larry and Susan Briggs;
and WHEREAS, a student at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UT), where she is
highly regarded by her peers, Julia Briggs has achieved academic success while pursuing a degree in political science with a concentration in international relations and a minor in German language; and WHEREAS, a leader among her peers, Ms. Briggs is a Howard Baker, Jr., Ambassador,
a Chancellor's Honor Program student, and a member of Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society; she was awarded the prestigious UT Volunteer Scholarship; and WHEREAS, eager to familiarize herself with the characteristics and complexities of
Tennessee State government and to further her studies, Julia Briggs brought her many abilities and singular expertise to Capitol Hill for the 2024 session of the One Hundred Thirteenth General Assembly; and WHEREAS, throughout the 2024 legislative session, Ms. Briggs has surpassed all criteria that define a devoted and conscientious intern; and SJR1415

WHEREAS, Julia Briggs has performed her many duties with extraordinary insight and rare decorum; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRTEENTH
GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF
REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we hereby commend Julia Briggs for outstanding service as an intern for the University of Tennessee Office of Government Relations and Advocacy and extend to her our best wishes for every future success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear without House or Senate designation.
