Her commitment to community service and health equity has been recognized through several awards, including the 2023 National Coalition of 100 Black Women Susan Short Jones Emerging Leader Award for Health and the 2022 Harold Love Outstanding Community Service Award.
Additionally, Ms. Brown has made significant strides in health leadership and policy, being the first undergraduate to graduate from the Satcher Health Leadership Institute Community Voices program at Morehouse School of Medicine. She has presented her research internationally and received the 2021 Synapse Award in Research Excellence. As the only student from Tennessee accepted into the inaugural class of Charles R. Drew University Medical School, her journey reflects a dedication to addressing healthcare disparities and serving underrepresented communities, continuing the legacy of her mother, Katherine Y. Brown, a noted health educator. The resolution celebrates her academic achievements and professional dedication, recognizing her as an exemplary representative of Tennessee.
