ON APRIL 1, 2024, THE HOUSE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND PASSED HOUSE BILL 2873, AS AMENDED.
AMENDMENT #1 rewrites the bill to, instead, authorize the governor to remove a member of the autonomous inmate oversight board, whom the governor appointed, for cause. The speaker of the senate or the speaker of the house of representatives may remove a member of the board whom the respective speaker appointed for cause.
