Senate Bill 2665 establishes a street racing task force in Tennessee aimed at addressing illegal street racing. The task force will consist of seventeen members, including representatives from the Tennessee Department of Safety, the Tennessee Highway Patrol, and police chiefs and mayors from six major cities: Memphis, Nashville, Knoxville, Chattanooga, Clarksville, and Murfreesboro. Additionally, appointees from the governor and legislative leaders will be included. The task force is required to meet at least monthly, with the first meeting scheduled no later than August 1, 2024, and will report its findings and recommendations to the General Assembly by January 15, 2025.

The task force will operate under the chairmanship of the commissioner of safety and is administratively attached to the Department of Safety. Members will serve without compensation but will be reimbursed for travel and related expenses. The task force will cease to exist after submitting its report to the General Assembly.
