ON APRIL 9, 2024, THE SENATE ADOPTED AMENDMENTS #2 AND #3 AND PASSED SENATE BILL 1844, AS AMENDED.
AMENDMENT #2 rewrites the bill to, instead, do the following:
(1) Establish each of the following as a "premier type tourist resort":
(A) Electric Jane;
(B) The Bard Room;
(C) Magnolia Manor and Chapel;
(D) Timber Rock Lodge;
(E) Dillenger's The Hideout;
(F) Piney River Resort;
(G) Spring Hill Golf Club / Towhee Club;
(H) Deer Creek Golf Club / Grandy's Bar & Grill;
(I) Hotel Cleo and Lilou Restaurant;
(J) Morristown Landing;
(K) Smoky Mountain Country Club;
(L) Rockwood Marina & RV Resort;
(M) McMinnville Country Club / Murdocks's;
(N) The Arcade Downtown;
(O) Peabody Union;
(P) Javi's Restaurant;
(Q) The Blue Parrot Supper Club;
(R) Raising Cane's (4th floor South Broadway bar);
(S) Nashville City Club;
(T) Newport Speedway and Event Center;
(U) Briggs Brothers Ranch and Winery;
(V) Tri Dog Brewery;
(W) The Timber at Holly Branch;
(X) Indian Creek Market;
(Y) The Farm / 8am Golf;
(Z) The Station Theater; and
(AA) Stardust Marina;
(2) Require that "urban park centers" pay an annual privilege tax of $4,000 to be earmarked for and allocated to the alcoholic beverage commission for the purpose of administration and enforcement of the duties, powers, and functions of the commission; and
(3) Establish Crosstown Memphis as an "urban park center."
AMENDMENT #3 also establishes Southern Turf as a "premier type tourist resort."
ON APRIL 22, 2024, THE HOUSE SUBSTITUTED SENATE BILL 1844 FOR HOUSE BILL 1937, ADOPTED AMENDMENTS #1 AND #2, AND PASSED SENATE BILL 1844, AS AMENDED.
AMENDMENT #1 adds Bolt Farm Treehouse in Marion County as a premier type tourist resort.
AMENDMENT #2 adds Southern Turf as a premier type tourist resort.
ON APRIL 23, 2024, THE HOUSE RECONSIDERED ITS ACTIONS, LIFTED THE TABLING MOTION, ADOPTED AMENDMENT #3, AND PASSED SENATE BILL 1844, AS AMENDED.
AMENDMENT #3 makes a technical correction.
ON APRIL 24, 2024, THE SENATE NON-CONCURRED IN HOUSE AMENDMENTS #1, #2, AND #3.
ON APRIL 24, 2024, THE HOUSE REFUSED TO RECEDE FROM ITS ADOPTION OF AMENDMENTS #1, #2, AND #3.
