ON MARCH 28, 2024, THE SENATE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND PASSED SENATE BILL 1706, AS AMENDED.
AMENDMENT #1 rewrites the bill to, instead, provide that if an administrator of elections attends a training, seminar, conference, or other educational event related to elections and such event is outside of this state, then the administrator of elections must file a form prescribed by the coordinator of elections reporting, at a minimum, (i) the name of the event and the entity hosting or producing the event; (ii) the location and date of the event; (iii) the identity of the person or entity that paid for the attendance of the administrator of elections; (iv) number of days attended; and (v) the total amount of county, state, or federal funds used to attend the event, if any. The administrator of elections must file the form with the state election commission no later than 15 days after the date of the out-of-state training, seminar, conference, or other educational event related to elections.
