AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 8 and Title 16, relative to public officers and employees.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:
SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 8-7-105(a), is amended by adding the following language at the end of the subsection:
On June 30, 2024, the base salary for district attorneys general shall be two hundred five thousand three hundred twenty-eight dollars ($205,328) and shall be adjusted on July 1
to reflect the average percentage pay increase provided for state employees by the general appropriations act.
SECTION 2. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 8-14-107(a), is amended by adding the following language at the end of the subsection:
On June 30, 2024, the base salary for the district public defenders shall be two hundred five thousand three hundred twenty-eight dollars ($205,328) and shall be adjusted on
July 1 to reflect the average percentage pay increase provided for state employees by
the general appropriations act.
SECTION 3. This act takes effect upon becoming a law, the public welfare requiring it.
