By Bulso AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 39,
Chapter 17, Part 13; Title 49, Chapter 1 and Title
49, Chapter 50, relative to private schools.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:
SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-50-803, is amended by deleting
"K-12" wherever it appears in the section.
SECTION 2. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-50-803, is amended by adding the following as a new subsection:
(f) As used in this section, "private school" means a private school as defined in
§ 49-6-3001(c) that serves students in any of the grades pre-kindergarten through twelve
(pre-K-12).
SECTION 3. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 39-17-1309(e)(9), is amended by
deleting "K-12".
SECTION 4. This act takes effect upon becoming a law, the public welfare requiring it.
