House Resolution 7016, sponsored by Powers, honors Billy Arbo for his recent induction into the Greater Knoxville Sports Hall of Fame. Arbo, a former wide receiver for the University of Tennessee from 1976 to 1978, made significant contributions to the Vols, accumulating 664 receiving yards and three touchdowns over thirty-three games. Prior to his collegiate career, he was a standout player at Webb School.
In addition to his athletic achievements, Arbo has dedicated his life to service as the lead pastor at First Baptist Church in Jacksboro, where he focuses on providing beds for underprivileged children. He has also participated in nine missionary trips to Brazil. The resolution recognizes Arbo's exemplary spirit and perseverance, celebrating his accomplishments both on and off the field, and extends best wishes for his continued success.
