A RESOLUTION to congratulate Joel Hembree of TCAT
Morristown on his second-place finish at the
2023 SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference.
WHEREAS, it is fitting that we recognize those industrious, talented students of
Tennessee who bring pride and honor to our State; and WHEREAS, one such individual is Joel Hembree of Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) Morristown, who participated in the 2023 SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference in Chattanooga on April 16-19, 2023, and took home a silver medal in the Technical Drafting, Computer Aided Design competition; and WHEREAS, SkillsUSA is a national nonprofit partnership of students, instructors, and more than 650 corporations, trade associations, businesses, and labor unions that works to
ensure that America has the skilled workforce it needs to stay competitive; founded in 1965 and endorsed by the United States Department of Education, the association serves more than
400,000 students and instructors each year in middle schools, high schools, and colleges,
focusing on 130 trade, technical, and skilled-service occupations; and WHEREAS, Joel Hembree's display of aptitude and ambition surely bodes well for his future success, and his dedication to excellence is clearly deserving of our respect, admiration,
and commendation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRTEENTH
GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF
REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we commend and congratulate Joel Hembree of
TCAT Morristown on winning a silver medal in the Technical Drafting, Computer Aided Design SJR7053

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
