SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION 7006

A RESOLUTION to honor and congratulate Woody Duncan upon his induction into the Bryan College Sports Hall of Fame.
WHEREAS, we take great pleasure in paying tribute to those gifted athletes, coaches,
and administrators who have attained the very pinnacle of sporting achievement; and WHEREAS, Woody Duncan is one such legendary athlete, who was recently inducted into the Bryan College Sports Hall of Fame; and WHEREAS, during his storied, four-year basketball career at Bryan College, Woody Duncan became the school's all-time leading scorer with a total of 2,194 points, with forty-two points scored in one game; and WHEREAS, a legend on the hardwood, Mr. Duncan was named the MVP at Bryan College for three seasons and was a member of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference All-Conference and/or All-Tournament Teams all four seasons; and WHEREAS, Mr. Duncan graduated from Bryan College in 1974 with a degree in
psychology and began his professional career at the Gaseous Diffusion Plant in Oak Ridge; in
1985, he transferred to the National Security Complex; and WHEREAS, having held several positions throughout his forty-year career, Woody Duncan took his well-deserved retirement in 2014; and WHEREAS, a devoted husband and father, Mr. Duncan is most grateful for the love and support he shares with his wife of seventeen years, Peggy; his children, Jared and Kandi; his stepson, Brian; and his beloved grandchildren; and SJR7006

WHEREAS, Woody Duncan exemplifies the spirit, determination, and perseverance for which Tennesseans are notable, and he is richly deserving of our approbation on this special occasion; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRTEENTH
GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF
REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we honor and congratulate Woody Duncan upon his induction into the Bryan College Sports Hall of Fame.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear without House or Senate designation.
