ON APRIL 13, 2023, THE HOUSE ADOPTED AMENDMENTS # 1 AND 2 AND PASSED HOUSE BILL 685, AS AMENDED.
AMENDMENT #1 clarifies that the department of transportation must identify in a report the locations of state and local government roads in this state where injuries to motor vehicle occupants, bicyclists, and pedestrians are elevated in comparison to the statewide average. This amendment revises the requirements involving reporting on pedestrian and bicycle crashes to only require that from pedestrian and bicycle-related traffic crash data, the department must identify the areas that are elevated and identify intersection design factors or other factors that may have an impact regarding such crashes.
AMENDMENT #2 removes the requirement for the department of transportation to identify locations of state and local government roads in this state where injuries to motor vehicle occupants are elevated in comparison to the statewide average.
