This bill requires the board of emergency medical services to give a licensed Tennessee ambulance service with full-time employed emergency medical services personnel who successfully complete an annual in-service training course of at least 40 hours duration at a training center a pay supplement of $800 for each such personnel who completes the course, to be paid in addition to the personnel's regular salary.
This bill also requires emergency services personnel who served, or serve, on active duty in the armed forces of the United States during a period of armed conflict prescribed by presidential proclamation or federal law to receive the supplement, if such service prevented, or prevents, such personnel from attending the course.
ON APRIL 21, 2023, THE HOUSE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND PASSED HOUSE BILL 155, AS AMENDED.
AMENDMENT #1 changes the effective date of this bill, for all purposes other than rulemaking, from upon becoming a law to January 1, 2024.
