HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 127

A RESOLUTION to confirm the appointment of Charles M.
Traughber, Jr., to the Tennessee Ethics Commission.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 3-6-103, Governor Bill Lee has selected Charles M. Traughber, Jr., as his appointee from the minority party to the Tennessee Ethics Commission; and WHEREAS, Charles M. Traughber, Jr., served for more than forty years in State government, starting his career in 1969 as a prison counselor at the Tennessee State Penitentiary; and WHEREAS, Mr. Traughber next became director of counselors and then was selected as one of the charter members of the full-time Board of Parole; and WHEREAS, he served as Chairman of the Board of Parole for thirty years before retiring in June of 2013; and WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 3-6-103, requires that each gubernatorial appointee be confirmed by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of approval by each house of
the General Assembly; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED
TWELFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE
CONCURRING, that this body hereby confirms the appointment of Charles M. Traughber, Jr., to the Tennessee Ethics Commission, such term to expire on December 31, 2024.
