This bill amends South Dakota law to facilitate the distribution of funds for county rural access infrastructure. Specifically, it modifies Section 31-34-2 to require the Department of Revenue to deposit a portion of the appropriated funds into a rural access infrastructure fund for each county, based on the number of small structures on township and county secondary roads. The bill also establishes that counties receiving these funds must utilize them in accordance with the relevant provisions of the law.

Additionally, the bill appropriates $5,000,000 from the general fund to the Department of Revenue for this purpose, with a stipulation that no more than one-third of the appropriated amount may be deposited into the rural access infrastructure funds in each of the fiscal years 2026, 2027, and 2028.
