This bill amends South Dakota law to enhance the accessibility of property tax information for taxpayers. It introduces the definition of a "QR code" as a two-dimensional matrix barcode intended for digital scanning and clarifies the role of the county treasurer.

Additionally, the bill mandates that property tax bills sent to taxpayers must include a QR code and an internet address linking to a website maintained by the Department of Revenue. This website will provide supplementary information on property taxation and available tax relief programs. Furthermore, the tax bill must inform taxpayers, in at least twelve-point font, that they can access further tax information using the provided QR code and internet address.
