The bill amends Section 61-5-29.3 to update the reporting requirements for the Governor's Office of Economic Development regarding awards and grants. It mandates that, on or before March 1st each year, the Office must provide a written report to several legislative committees, including the Government Operations and Audit Committee, and the State Affairs Committees in both the Senate and House, detailing information for each award or grant made from the employer's investment in South Dakota's future fund over the past twenty years.
The report must include the recipient's name and award amount, location, purpose of funding, measures of economic impact, number of jobs created or retained, the fund's balance at the time of reporting, the status of the funded purpose, and projections of jobs created or retained for awards made more than two years prior. Additionally, the Office is required to submit this report biannually to either the Joint Committee on Appropriations or a special interim committee, ensuring greater transparency and accountability in the use of state funds for economic development.
