This bill appropriates a total of $20,656,978 for state employee salaries, which includes $8,454,195 from the general fund, $3,524,321 in federal fund expenditure authority, and $8,678,462 in other fund expenditure authority. The funds are designated for a payment of one and a half percent of each state employee's current salary, to be distributed by the Bureau of Finance and Management to state agencies and governmental entities with at least one state employee.
Starting July 1, 2026, state employees who are employed as of January 1, 2026, will receive monthly payments equivalent to one twelfth of one and a half percent of their annualized salary as of that date. If an employee is no longer employed by the state on the payment date, they will not receive the payment. The bill also stipulates that any unspent funds by June 30, 2027, will revert according to existing procedures, and it will take effect on June 30, 2026.
