This bill aims to update the official code of laws for the State of South Dakota by amending existing statutes. Specifically, it revises Section 2-16-13 to include the 2024 revisions of volumes 16 and 18, as well as the December 2024 Interim Update Service and the 2024 cumulative annual pocket parts. Additionally, it amends Section 2-16-15 to clarify that no provisions of the code enacted by Section 2-16-13 will validate any actions or proceedings that were initiated before July 1, 2025, regarding the constitutionality of those provisions.

Furthermore, Section 2-16-16 is amended to establish that all statutes enacted during the 2025 legislative session, except for the code enacted by Section 2-16-13, will be considered as enacted after the code's enactment. In cases where new statutes conflict with the provisions of the code, the new statutes will take precedence. This ensures that any legislative changes made in 2025 are appropriately aligned with the updated code of laws.
