A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION, Celebrating the wrestling career of Jackson Remmers.
WHEREAS, Jackson Remmers began his wrestling career at McCook Central High School and placed sixth in the 106-pound weight class at the State B wrestling tournament as a seventh grader in 2019; and
WHEREAS, as an eighth grader, Jackson placed fourth in the 126-pound weight class at the State B wrestling tournament in 2020; and
WHEREAS, as a freshman, Jackson was the 132-pound weight class state champion at the State B wrestling tournament in 2021; and
WHEREAS, as a sophomore, Jackson finished the season as the runner-up in the 145-pound weight class at the State B wrestling tournament in 2022; and
WHEREAS, as a junior, Jackson completed an undefeated season, earning his second state title as the 152-pound weight class state champion at the 2023 State B wrestling tournament; and
WHEREAS, Jackson transferred to Howard High School for his senior year and continued his dominance on the mat, completing a second consecutive undefeated season and earning his third state title as the 157-pound weight class state champion at the 2024 State B wrestling tournament; and
WHEREAS, Jackson completed his high school wrestling career with one hundred and one consecutive wins and tied the all-time state record with two hundred and eighty-six total career wins:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED, by the Ninety-Ninth Legislature of the State of South Dakota, that Jackson Remmers is one of the most outstanding wrestlers in the history of South Dakota high school wrestling and has shown his dedication to hard work, exemplary leadership, and a commitment to winning throughout his high school wrestling career.
