A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION, Honoring the life and service of Union County Sheriff Dan Limoges.
WHEREAS, Sheriff Dan Limoges spent his entire adult life in law enforcement, as a city policeman, and later as the sheriff in Union County; and
WHEREAS, Dan was first elected as the sheriff of Union County in 1991, and continued in that office after being reelected eight times; and
WHEREAS, Dan was a leader in the South Dakota Sheriff's Association and served as president in 2005; and
WHEREAS, Dan passed away on February 13, 2024:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED, by the Ninety-Ninth Legislature of the State of South Dakota, that Sheriff Dan Limoges be honored for his service to the State of South Dakota as the longtime sheriff of Union County.
