An Act to prohibit an employer from withholding compensation from an employee who quits without notice.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of South Dakota:
Section 1. That a NEW SECTION be added to chapter 60-11:
An employee who quits the service of an employer is entitled to compensation for services rendered up to the time of the quitting. The employer may not withhold or reduce compensation for a punitive purpose if the employee quits without notice to the employer.
