An Act to require the placement of informational signs explaining works of art accepted by the state and displayed at a rest area or facility operated by the Department of Transportation.

Section 1. That a NEW SECTION be added to chapter 31-29:

If the Department of Transportation accepts artwork as a gift for the purpose of being displayed at a rest area or facility operated by the department, the department must produce and affix an informational sign near the artwork providing the artist's explanation of the artwork, the history of the artwork's production, and the significance of the artwork to the state.
