An Act to transfer the Office of Indian Education to the Department of Education.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of South Dakota:

Section 1. The Office of Indian Education is hereby transferred to and continued within the Department of Education.

Section 2. Pursuant to   2-16-9, the Code Commission and code counsel are to transfer the following sections to chapter 1-45, update the cross-references, and amend the following sections by striking "Department of Tribal Relations" and inserting "Department of Education," and by striking "secretary of tribal relations" and inserting "secretary of education":    1-54-11; 1-54-12; 1-54-13; 1-54-14; 1-54-15; 1-54-16; 1-54-17; 1-54-18; 1-54-19; and 1-54-20.
