A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION, Celebrating the Sioux Falls Lincoln Patriots football team.

WHEREAS, the 2023 Sioux Falls Lincoln Patriots football team had an undefeated season with a record of 12-0 and one of the most dominant high school football seasons in state history, outscoring their opponents by a total of 589 to 144; and

WHEREAS, the Patriots are the South Dakota Metro Athletic Conference 2023 football champions with a record of 6-0; and

WHEREAS, the Patriots defeated the Rapid City Stevens Raiders 56-21 and the Brandon Valley Lynx 28-21 in the playoffs; and

WHEREAS, the Patriots defeated the O'Gorman Knights in the championship game with a score of 31-7 and became the 2023 State 11AAA football champions:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED, by the Ninety-Ninth Legislature of the State of South Dakota, that the Legislature recognizes the many successes and the state championship victory of the Sioux Falls Lincoln Patriots football team during their 2023 season.
