A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION, Recognizing Lincoln Kienholz's high school athletic achievement and commitment to play collegiate football.

WHEREAS, Lincoln Kienholz, a senior and three-sport athlete at T.F. Riggs High School in Pierre, South Dakota, verbally committed to playing collegiate football at The Ohio State University on December 14, 2022, becoming the second player to have done so in South Dakota history; and

WHEREAS, as a three-year starting quarterback for the Pierre Governors, Mr. Kienholz led the team to three consecutive wins at the Class 11AA State Championship in 2020, 2021, and 2022. Mr. Kienholz is one of the most statistically impressive quarterbacks in South Dakota high school football history, having thrown a total of 9,100 yards and 104 touchdowns throughout his career, becoming the state's all-time passing yards leader this past fall; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Kienholz has received numerous accolades for his athletic achievement, including three consecutive Joe Robbie MVP awards at the 11AA State Championship, the 2022 MaxPreps South Dakota High School Football Player of the Year, the 2022-2023 South Dakota Gatorade Football Player of the Year, and a first team selection on the 2022 Class AA all-state basketball team. Prior to his commitment to The Ohio State, Mr. Kienholz had received offers to play collegiate football from multiple NCAA Division I universities; and

WHEREAS, in addition to his athletic prowess, Mr. Kienholz also shows excellence in the classroom, having maintained an excellent grade point average and becoming a member of the National Honor Society:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED, by the Ninety-Eighth Legislature of the State of South Dakota, that the Legislature congratulates Lincoln Kienholz on a stellar high school athletic career and wishes him every success at the collegiate level in football.
