A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION, Celebrating the life and accomplishments of Randy Stainbrook.
WHEREAS, Randy Stainbrook was an accomplished member of the Rapid City community. He established his longtime career in the electrical field in Rapid City, and, along with his wife Pamela, raised four daughters there. Mr. Stainbrook passed away January 7, 2023; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Stainbrook began his career as an entry-level groundman and equipment operator when he first joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local Union 1250. Once Mr. Stainbrook earned his journeyman electrician certification, he took his talents across South Dakota, Nebraska, and Iowa before he was appointed business manager of IBEW in 1989. He also served as the president of West River Building Trade Construction, vice-president of AFL-CIO, president of the Labor Temple Building Association, a trustee and chairman of the Dakotas Areawide Health and Welfare and Pension, and the Labor-appointed representative on the South Dakota Workforce Development Council and Workers' Compensation Advisory Council; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Stainbrook was devoted both to his family and to the Rapid City community. He contributed his time and talents to the Christmas lighting event at Storybook Island, the annual IBEW Local 1250 Solidarity Motorcycle Ride, the IBEW Annual Fishing Derby, the Rapid City Labor Day parade, and the rebuilding of bridges on the Mickelson Trail:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED, by the Ninety-Eighth Legislature of the State of South Dakota, that Mr. Stainbrook lived a celebrated life of service and will be a missed member of the Rapid City community.
