A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION, Commending and honoring the Huron School Board on their selection as the Associated School Boards of South Dakota Outstanding School Board for 2022.

WHEREAS, the Huron School Board is dedicated to continuous improvement, making decisions based on the best interests of students and staff, ensuring good staff development opportunities are available, and is unwavering in carrying out the district's vision of respect, pride, and excellence for all; and

WHEREAS, to enhance student learning, the Huron School Board adopted a K-12 English Language Arts curriculum, added intervention opportunities for students to catch up on late work, offered English as a Second Language summer school, the Tiger afterschool program, and the Portrait of a Graduate program; and

WHEREAS, the Huron School Board sought input from a marketing committee when rebranding district logos, partnered with the Huron Regional Medical Center on the CNA and EMS courses at the high school, and supported facility upgrades, among many other projects and initiatives:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED, by the Ninety-Eighth Legislature of the State of South Dakota, that the Huron School Board represents South Dakota's commitment to supporting quality education and is encouraged to continue their efforts to improve educational opportunities for K-12 students in South Dakota.
