An Act to prohibit the spouse of a member of the Legislature from being employed as a private lobbyist.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of South Dakota:

Section 1. That chapter 2-12 be amended with a NEW SECTION:

No person may be employed as a registered private lobbyist if the person's spouse is a current member of the Senate or House of Representatives. This section does not apply to an executive or judicial agency representative as provided in   2-12-7.1.
