The South Carolina Senate has adopted a resolution to congratulate Flat Creek Baptist Church on its two hundred fiftieth anniversary, which will be celebrated in 2026. The church, first organized on July 4, 1776, shares its founding date with the United States and has a rich history, including its initial meetings held in a brush arbor and several changes to its sanctuary over the years. The church has been a significant part of the Lancaster community, with its current pastor, Reverend Bart Miles, leading the congregation for over twelve years.

The resolution acknowledges the church's longstanding commitment to service and ministry within the community and the state of South Carolina. It expresses appreciation for the church's contributions and recognizes its active membership in the Moriah Baptist Association and the South Carolina Baptist Convention. A copy of the resolution will be presented to Reverend Bart Miles in honor of this milestone.
