The South Carolina Senate has adopted a resolution to congratulate the York Comprehensive High School male and female strength teams, along with their coaches and school officials, for their exceptional performance during the 2025-2026 season, culminating in their victory at the South Carolina Class AAAA State Championships. The resolution highlights the achievements of the teams, including the women's state meet held on November 8, 2025, and the men's state meet on March 24, 2026, where the teams showcased their skills in events such as back squat, bench press, and standing broad jump. Notably, the women's team produced nine All-State athletes and two state champions, while the men's team had one state champion and three All-State finishers.

The resolution acknowledges the hard work and dedication of the athletes, particularly recognizing individual champions like Alyvia "AC" Lingerfelt and Lindsey Morrison for the women's team, and Eli Clinton for the men's team, who set a state record in the broad jump. The success of the teams is attributed to the leadership of Head Coach Jason Layman and his coaching staff. The Senate expresses appreciation for the pride and recognition the teams have brought to their school and community, and looks forward to their future accomplishments. A copy of the resolution will be presented to the teams, Coach Layman, and Principal Jenna Markey.
