The bill, H. 5212, is a House Resolution that honors and recognizes the Calhoun County High School "Thunder & Lightning" Marching Band for their outstanding achievements during the 2025 Allstate Sugar Bowl Band Competition. The band, consisting of 42 students from Calhoun County High School and local K8 schools, achieved a remarkable total sweep in Class A by winning first place in both the Parade and Field Show competitions, as well as earning every caption award in their class. Their performance culminated in receiving the Overall Sweepstakes trophy, marking a historic moment for the school and community.

The resolution expresses appreciation for the support from school officials, parents, and community members, and acknowledges the dedication of Band Director Mr. Travis Lawton and his staff in fostering a culture of discipline and teamwork among the students.
