The South Carolina Senate has introduced a resolution to recognize and honor the significant contributions of Goodwill Industries to the state's economy, workforce development, and community service. The resolution highlights the findings of an independent economic impact study from the Darla Moore School of Business, which estimated that Goodwill Industries contributed approximately $638 million to South Carolina's economy in 2024. This impact is reflected in the support of around 15,000 jobs and the provision of career services to over 23,000 individuals, resulting in more than 10,000 placements in employment with an average starting wage of $16.50 per hour.

The resolution commends Goodwill Industries for its role in promoting economic stability and opportunity for various populations, including veterans, individuals with disabilities, and those facing barriers to employment. It emphasizes Goodwill's commitment to workforce development and community engagement through its network of retail stores and training centers. The Senate expresses its appreciation for Goodwill's efforts in advancing the dignity of work and building a resilient and inclusive economy in South Carolina. A copy of the resolution will be presented to the leadership of Palmetto Goodwill and Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina.
