The South Carolina Senate has adopted a resolution to recognize and honor the Lancaster High School boys varsity basketball team, along with their coaches and school officials, for their remarkable achievement in winning the 2025 South Carolina Class AAAA State Championship title. The team, known as the Bruins, secured their first state championship in seventy-five years by defeating North Augusta High School with a score of 69-55, finishing the season with an impressive 27-1 record and a 22-game winning streak. Key players highlighted in the resolution include senior Jordan Watford and junior Columbus Parker, both of whom contributed significantly to the championship victory.
The resolution emphasizes the pride and recognition the Lancaster basketball players have brought to their school and community, as well as the invaluable life lessons imparted by Head Coach Jerron Cauthen and his coaching staff. The Senate looks forward to the team's future achievements and plans to present a copy of the resolution to Principal Rosalyn Mood and Coach Cauthen as a formal acknowledgment of their success.
