The "South Carolina Pray Safe Act" aims to establish the South Carolina Pray Safe Grant Program within the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED). This program will provide grants to eligible private organizations that are at risk of being victims of religiously motivated crimes. Eligible applicants must be federally recognized as tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) and own or operate facilities that may require security enhancements. The grants, which can be up to $750,000, will fund various security improvements, including assessments, personnel, and physical upgrades to facilities.

SLED will be responsible for developing the application process and criteria for ranking applicants based on their risk levels and previous incidents of religiously motivated crimes. The act also establishes a dedicated fund within the State Treasury for the grant program, ensuring that the funds are used solely for the intended purpose. The act will take effect upon the Governor's approval.
