A house RESOLUTION

To express profound sorrow upon the passing of Jimmy Lee JOnes, Sr., of Moncks Corner and to extend the deepest sympathy to his family and friends.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives were deeply saddened to learn that Jimmy Lee Jones, Sr., entered his eternal rest on Friday, April 26, 2024, at the age of seventy-eight; and

Whereas, born on March 24, 1946, the young Jimmy attended Brewer High School in Greenwood, from which he graduated in 1964, and later served in the United States Army. His contributions to his nation were noble and have not gone unappreciated; and

Whereas, Mr. Jones was respected and well-known in his community and in surrounding areas. Always wearing a bright smile that could cheer up anyone, he had an immeasurable impact on those who were fortunate to call him a friend. Jimmy was a family man who loved his wife, children, and extended family dearly; and

Whereas, he was the loving and devoted husband of fifty-four years to Patricia and father to four children, Natalie Tinch, Gary L. Minyard, Jimmy Lee Jones, Jr., and Patryce Denise Jones. He was also blessed with four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, express profound sorrow upon the passing of Jimmy Lee Jones, Sr., and extend the deepest sympathy to his family and friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jimmy Lee Jones, Sr.
