A house RESOLUTION
 
To Honor Dr. Karen Wright-Chisolm, native of Charleston, for her significant achievements and to congratulate her on being elected as the fiftieth imperial commandress of the imperial court, auxiliary of the Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order Nobles Mystic Shrine, Inc.
 
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives were pleased to learn that Dr. Karen Wright-Chisolm was elected as the fiftieth Imperial Commandress of the Imperial Court, Auxiliary of the Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order Nobles Mystic Shrine (A.E.A.O.N.M.S.). In her honor, a black-tie affair will be held on April 19, 2024; and
 
Whereas, the prestigious position of Imperial Commandress makes Dr. Wright-Chisolm responsible for the membership of more than nine thousand five hundred daughters in over two hundred courts. As the leader of a global organization, she is responsible for the daughters and courts in the United States, Canada, Bahamas, U.S. Virgin Islands, Far East, Asia, Korea, and Western Europe; and
 
Whereas, Dr. Wright-Chisolm is the first Imperial Commandress from Charleston. She began her journey in 2009, starting as the lowest ranking officer, and became the highest-ranking officer of the Imperial Court in less than sixteen years; and
 
Whereas, Dr. Wright-Chisolm has been instrumental not only within the Imperial Court, but also in the city of Charleston. She is a member of the City of Charleston Women and Minority Business Enterprise Advisory Board, founder of Boots-2-Heels, Inc. South Carolina Chapter, former 1st Vice President of the N.A.A.C.P. Charleston Branch, Diamond Life Member of the Charleston Alumnae Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., graduate of the Cohort #2 of Dorothy I. Height Global Leadership Academy, Life Member of the National Council of Negro Women Bethune-Cookman Section, member of the Hiram Mann Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, and charter member of the IAAM of Charleston. She is currently in the planning stages of launching an initiative in the Charleston area that will be used globally; and
 
Whereas, Dr. Wright-Chisolm is a retired veteran from the United States Air Force, serving over twenty-seven years and retiring as Chief Master Sergeant. She is noted as the first black and first female to serve as Superintendent of the 315th Mission Support Squadron on Charleston Air Force Base. As a veteran herself, Dr. Wright-Chisolm has a passion for assisting homeless veterans in any way she can; and
 
Whereas, Dr. Wright-Chisolm is married to Paul Chisolm, Jr. of Charleston, and they are the proud parents of four children. They also have eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Now, therefore,
 
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
 
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, honor Dr. Karen Wright-Chisolm, native of Charleston, for her significant achievements and congratulate her on being elected as the fiftieth Imperial Commandress of the Imperial Court, Auxiliary of the A.E.A.O.N.M.S., Inc.
 
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Dr. Karen Wright-Chisolm.
