A bill

 

TO AMEND THE SOUTH CAROLINA CODE OF LAWS BY AMENDING SECTION 33-31-820, RELATING TO REGULAR AND SPECIAL MEETINGS OF NONPROFIT CORPORATIONS, SO AS TO REQUIRE CONFORMITY WITH SECTION 30-4-70; AND BY AMENDING SECTION 33-31-822, RELATING TO CALL AND NOTICE OF MEETINGS, SO AS TO REQUIRE CONFORMITY WITH SECTION 30-4-80.

 

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

 

SECTION 1.  Section 33-31-820 of the S.C. Code is amended by adding:

 

    (d) Unless the articles or bylaws provide otherwise, all regular and special meetings of nonprofit corporations governed by this chapter must conform with the meeting requirements of Section 30-4-70.

 

SECTION 2.  Section 33-31-822(a) of the S.C. Code is amended to read:

 

     (a) Unless the articles, bylaws, or subsection (c) provides otherwise, regular meetings of the board may be held without noticegoverned by this chapter must conform with the notice requirements of Section 30-4-80.

 

SECTION 3.  This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
